Customer Reviews about Elevations Credit Union:

I am sad to say that I am leaving Elevations Credit Union after the horrendous "customer service" I experienced today. In my 5 years at this CU, I have been an excellent customer, with multiple accounts, a credit card (zero late payments), and the intention of acquiring a mortgage loan this upcoming year. I made the embarrassing, yet not uncommon mistake, of forgetting to transfer money from my savings to my checking account for rent and ended up acquiring over $500 in fees. I was never alerted of these overdrafts. (Despite the fact that I had PLENTY of money in my savings accounts.) When I called to speak with someone about what they could do to remove some of the fees, I worked with two separate individuals answering the customer service line who were bound by policy to not remove more than $90 dollars (they ended up being able to remove $120--woo!). I repeatedly asked if I could speak to a manager multiple times. The supervisor never spoke with me, and only spoke through the customer service reps. Mind you, I have NEVER over-drafted on any of my accounts during my time at Elevations. This was quite obviously a mistake--and a very costly one at that. I am saddened and angered at their lack of consideration for their customers. I understand that I would have to pay a certain amount of money in fees, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had in my many years of banking. I'll be taking my money to a credit union that still operates as a credit union--putting the customer first and providing excellent service, or at the very least faking some amount of empathy. No apologies were given when I asked to close my credit card account or when I mentioned that I would be transferring my money to another institution. Seems like they could care less about losing customers. My partner and I (and a number of our friends) will be banking elsewhere.

I recently bought a car for my daughter in April of 2015. Elevations was the chosen bank by the car dealer to finance our load. It has been my experience that most CUs are all about the same so we signed all the paperwork. My experience with Elevations has been ... well, less then horrible. I received a welcome letter 2 weeks after we bought the car totting how great they were and how pleased they were that we had chosen them. The next contact was the first payment was due that day and that I needed to make a payment NOW. I never received instructions on how to make payments, no coupon book ... nothing. I called and made the first payment. I tried to change the address so that my daughter would receive all the statements and such and they flat out stated no. I was on the loan and they could only send the information to me and that the car had to be kept at my address. After another week the letters started about needing proof of insurance NOW or they would add $500+ to the loan so THEY could buy insurance. In all the loans I have had with cars, I have NEVER had to do that. I would give them my Insurance Company and account at the time of the purchase and that was it. These letters have started up once again to log on to show proof of insurance. We get that taken care of. I moved to Washington and have all mail forwarded. I tried to call them to change my address and they stated that I can not do it over the phone. I would have to either log on to the account and do it or send them a letter by snail mail. I tried to log on but can not. I called their number and the only way to get a password change was to send a notarized letter. I was able to go to a local CU to move funds into my Elevations account and have had to call them once again. They were able to move the funds from the account to the loan but they are still refusing to change my address. I only hope that my title is forwarded. If you have any other choices, do NOT choose Elevations. It has been the worst banking experience I have EVERY had.
